Officially one of my favorite spitters on the underground scene, Harlem rapper by way of Brooklyn Salomon Faye releases riveting visual directed by Kris Merc for his song "Black Power." In wake of Freddie Gray's unjust death Salomon Faye and THEILLUZION take to the streets of Baltimore, Maryland to capture the TRUE essence of the protests and the black lives matter movement as a whole. Contrast to what mainstream media displays, The militant music video/mini documentary gives us the view of unity and serenity amongst fellow protestors. Salomon Faye reminds us of how much power we have as a people "Black is Brilliant black is Longevity black is African and Authenticity black is Conscious collective creativity black is King and Queen of everything Black Power." The calm yet authoritative track is everything hip hop needs right now. It's honest, raw and the gems being dropped?! Shit is dope!
