Read below and find out why Controverse is the King Contch of Brooklyn Hip-Hop.

UHH: Tell us a bit about yourself?

Controverse: I’m 22 years old. Live & from East New York, Brooklyn. I'm not here to play any games.

How did growing up in Brooklyn shape you as a lyricist?

Growing up in Brooklyn, made me a lot tougher. So despite my sexuality, I've always been really hardcore, real pop off at the drop of a dime. Always was in trouble or some type of situation (lol) but not anymore though. I'M DEAD GROWN NOW LIKE.

UHH: How did you go from the name Ninja to Controverse?

So we all love Nicki Minaj, but I think I was so in love with her as a teen, that I was I trying so hard to be her. I took some time off because I needed it. My life did a whole 360 and I said just be yourself, with me being such a badass I was going for “PROBLEM” but that sound redundant like everyone called themselves a problem in the game, I WAS NOT! Feeling CONTROVERSY. Wayyyy too savvy CONTROVERSE POPED IN MY HEAD & yea here I am today (LMFAOOO)

Name some musicians that influenced you as an artist and why?

Jadakiss (that's my dad he's always been underrated even at the HOTTEST POINT IN HIS CAREER, he was still overlooked, & BAR 4 BAR LYRICALLY? #COMMONSON #TALKABOUTIT! Foxy Brown (Another Bar 4 Bar Spitter, MI BOD GYAL) JAYZ (MOGUL) of Course Nicki Minaj (QUEEN) Usher, Sisqo, Dawn Richard, Beyonce (Vocalist)

How long have you been rapping? When did you realize you had something special?

I've been rapping since I was about 12 and singing since I was 8 and I'm 22 now. You know even right now I just feel like I'm just doing what I love. I know I'm nice but I don't really think much of it. BUT BRING IN THE COMP. I'M READY.

What inspires you to write music?

Everything. Everyday life. Things I'm going through, been through, and came back from. REAL SHIT.

How old were you when you decided to tell your family and friends that you were gay?

mmhhmm. How did I know this question would come… Did y'all hear about my new project coming? (lol) Nah, Ii was 15.

Did you ever feel that your sexuality would keep you from living out your dreams as a rapper?

At times but then, I DONT GIVE A F*CK. *SHRUGS*

What challenges have you faced being a gay rapper?

Not much, cause I'm good like I'm real good in the streets, so nobody really get crazy, it's either you fuck with me or you dont. Just #TALKNICE

What advice can you give to a young man who is a homosexual and believes he can not be a professional musician and openly gay at once?

LIVE YOUR LIFE, YOUR SKILL WILL SPEAK FOR ITS SELF, IN WHATEVER FEILD YOUR IN. HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH, HOLD YOUR TOURCH, DONT LET THEM PUT IT OUT.

How do you feel you will impact the Hip-Hop game for the better?

The difference is, I RAP. I'm a RAP STAR, I'll be on the cover of Oprah & Only Oprah is on the cover of OPRAH.

What can we expect from you next?

More BARS... lol. Nah, some acting and dancing. Just a lot. MY BRAND IS EXPANDING. SO I'M GUESSING ONLY THING 2 DO IS GO UP FROM HERE.
