Los Angeles-based rapper/producer, Thrills, shares a smoking song for his debut on UpcomingHipHop.net. He turns SWV's track "Can We" into a stoners anthem that fits his own personal style. There is something about Thrills' voice that calms me. This is definitely a track you can listen to early in the morning, late at night, or driving in your car. I think it's dope that he is trying to keep hip-hop alive in the sense that he is using samples in his production. When asked about his project Short Days/Long Nights he explained, “It’s introducing my urban/hip-hop background fans to festival music like Flume, M83, What So Not or Disclosure via a remix or re-work. Or introducing millennials to some old 90’s shit.” I love when artists experiment. I think that's what hip-hop was founded on.
