Duckwrth - "Rare Panther+Beachhouse" Video

Blossoming from South Central Los Angeles, Duckwrth introduces an arsenal of artistic ingenuity with his debut solo album, I’M UUGLY . An everlasting ray of summer sunlight piercing through the looming autumn haze, I’M UUGLY celebrates individuality with encouraging themes and stimulating rhythms that can turn up a spirited dance party just as easily as they can become a soundtrack for an intimate night at home. Listen to the project here , and purchase the album alongside Duckwrth's self-designed digital booklet on iTunes here . Premiered by Mass Appeal , the alternative hip-hop/funkwave artist and creative visionary explains: “This project is my masterpiece. It’s the sound I’ve been looking for. It’s the moment where you stop looking at your favorite superhero to save the world, and become that superhero. It's colourful, it’s textured, it’s ruckus, it’s sexy, it’s UUGLY and it’s me.”

This summer, Duckwrth performed on a North American tour in support of Anderson .Paak. Sharing a series of releases leading into I’M UUGLY, The FADER debuted the jubilant “GET UUGLY” video single while NOWNESS hosted the playful Lino Brown-directed double-feature “Rare Panther”+”Beachhouse” following its audio premiere viaNoisey on Beats 1/Apple Music. Additionally, NYLON praised Duckwrth’s “Lowridr” single as “the perfect song for your daily commute,” and WePlayTooMuch captured a charismatic live performance of the song at a record store in NYC. I’M UUGLY is Duckwrth’s debut solo album, and his first release since 2015’s Nowhere with The Kickdrums’ producer Alex Fitts, which earned praises from Complex , Noisey and Pigeons & Planes , in addition to accumulating millions of digital streams. While free download projects DuckTape in 2013 and Taxfree in 2014 showed glimpses of a well-rounded skillset, I’M UUGLY is presented with a more defined sound from an artist who’s peaking at master-level in a spectrum of creativity.
