[Photos From Last Night] Paco & Friends Host a Memorable Night of Music

Last night (6-27-16) Paco The G Train Bandit took over Pianos NYC and once again it was a night to remember. Paco has done a fantastic job curating shows for the past couple months so I need to show love when it's earned. The last time he did something at Pianos main stage, he sold it out. It didn't sell out this time (probably because it was a Monday) but there were still 110+ people there. There were a total of six acts throughout the night and they each brought something unique to the stage. Juanito Jones started off the night with a fantastic performance. He was the lead singer/rapper to a band who was made up of his family members (I think). I remember being at a loss of words after his second track because of how talented he is. The love of music Juanito and his band have was so inspiring. They were just up on stage rocking out and having fun. KB Jones & The Kontraband followed and continued the fun. These guys (and girl) are seasoned performers and you could tell from the second they stepped on stage. They used each others energy to put on a great set. KB Jones proved that he can lead a band, rap, and even scat.

Paco The G Train Bandit put on the best performance I have ever seen from him with the help of his new band, Low Profile. Paco also had help from Lauren Renahan who blew me away. I have seen Lauren perform before but last night I was totally in aww. Her beautiful, powerful voice filled the venue as her passion for performing caught everyone's eye. She reminded me of a young Madonna. Since Paco put the show together, the crowd moved up to the stage when he stepped on. Paco and Low Profile have came a long way since their first performance together. They seem more comfortable on stage alongside on another. One thing I love about Paco is that he is always trying to shine light on his friends. Throughout his set he brought up his good friends Crimdella, BS, and Ratchet By Nature to perform their hits together. I'm really happy for him. He deserves this.

As much as I want to say Paco's set was my favorite of this night, Adrienne Mack-Davis and Felecia Cruz stole the show. Adrienne Mack-Davis leads the duo and does it properly. She is a true hip-hop emcee the way she controls the stage and crowd. Oh and she can rap with the best of them too. She had strangers chanting her hooks and me jumping up and down. I was a fan by the second song they performed. By the time they finished, I was a supporter. I spent all morning finding and listen to her music. Butta Cool followed the girls with a high energy, up-close-and-personal performance. I've always enjoyed Butta's music because he drops lyrics over trap beats. Another reason why I like him, is his performance. He puts his all into each and every set he does and that's what he did on Monday. The Cold Press (Brent Butler, Deascent, & band) closed the show out with a solid performance. Brent wandered around the venue playing his guitar as he usually does which always keeps things entertaining. Deascent spit bars as he does making him one of the most underrated rapper in NYC. They have polished their performance over the past year as well. I am so proud for all of my friends that are supporting each other. It's so important for independent artists to support each other's music and events. Last night proved that if you do that, you can have an incredible event.
