East New York is going through a massive rezoning process that is going to change the neighborhood forever.
No one has said anything about the subject... until now.

No one can talk more accurately about gentrification than the people who live in the neighborhoods it’s affecting. For those of you that don’t know, Merriam-Webster describes gentrification as “the process of renewal and rebuilding accompanying the influx of middle-class or affluent people into deteriorating areas that often displaces poorer residents.” Roy The Savage, his family, his friends, his neighborhood, and other neighborhoods like his are all very familiar with the term because it has been happening in New York City and other urban areas for a long time. Roy took it upon himself to make a track about it; which leads us to today, the day it was released. “E.N.Y. (SLOWdown Gentrification)” brings up many issues affecting not only urban areas but POC, almost specifically. These issues are very well known in the communities where they are happening but might not be to others who don’t. Roy continues his community work now by raising awareness on this track and organizing locally. Follow his social media accounts to stay updated on the steps Roy is taking with community members to defend his neighborhood.
