As most of you know, Funk Volume hosts a contest every year for artists called Don't Funk Up Our Beats. Year after year more artists submit their videos in hopes of getting recognized by one of the most respected independent labels in the game. Over the years, I have seen some great submissions, a lot of ok submissions, and a handful of bad submissions. It's obvious when an artist doesn't put that much effort into the track or video but that is not the case of Sik Kid. Everything from his articulated lyrics to the quality of the video, Sik Kid delivers quality with his submission. He even name drops Jarren Benton (a Funk Volume artist) in this line "I BLOW UP like a TERRORIST ACT / I severed the RACOON that's on JARREN'S hat / I LOOK to god, and I know that he be STARIN Back / they BUMP my music because theirs Is WACK!" I wouldn't be surprised if Sik Kid made the top 10 this year. You can vote for him here:
