Blending a variety of genres to create a one-of-a-kind sound, Caelum, an uprising recording artist best known for his hit song "Change My Mind," has been steadily on the rise since his arrival in 2017. His latest project, King SZN, was met with critically acclaimed reviews and a huge boost in popularity with his monthly listeners reaching over 23,000. Now, with his buzz at an all-time high, he allows newfound fans to learn about his early days, what he has learned through his journey in the music business and more.

Do you think where you are from has impacted your music and what you bring to the table?

In a way it has most definitely, I've lived with 12 people in a 2 bedroom apartment for 3-4 years as a kid and seen the struggles my family has gone through. Especially with everything I have experienced, it makes me wanna work harder because I never want to feel that way again. In a way I think that's where my true work ethic comes from

What do you have planned for the rest of the year? New music anytime soon?

A single by the end of the year guaranteed and we are trying to get more than that out but you never know how it's gonna end up.

What separates you from everyone else that is creating music these days?

I've taken a different approach on my message and the way I envision music. I don't see music as just a song, it's art and it's all open to different opinions. I would say my music is a clash of multiple genres, from rock and roll to pop to hip hop to rap.

Is a tour or any events planned for the near future?

None that I can speak about just yet.

What is it like to completely bet on yourself with this music path you are choosing to pursue? Talk to us about the highs and the lows of this all, the pressures?

It's a beautiful journey honestly, it can be super stressful at times but the moments when I take a step back and look at how far I've come… nothing can compare to that feeling. Now for the pressure that's a whole different story, it's gotten harder throughout the years cause I feel the need to continuously one-up my last release. Betting on yourself is great at times because I do truly believe in myself and that's important to be successful. But there are a lot of times because I'm betting on myself that it gets lonely, at the end of the day I love all the good and bad moments because without the bad moments I couldn't have room for growth in my music career. You know you're doing something right when you're constantly only getting better as well as learning more on the way up, if you aren't doing that how do you know you are getting better? It's a yin yang and you need both to have a good balance

Although you might not be at your final destination and where you truly see yourself. Your work ethic is undeniable. Do you have any wisdom or advice to give to your peers or those that are looking to take the same route as you?

If you truly want to get there, don't ever give up. It's a very long journey and takes a lot of patience and even more self-belief but I can promise you it's all possible. Just keep your head held high and continue to push forward.

Thoughts on the music industry? Is it as cutthroat as everyone says?

At times it can be, it just depends on how you view the situation. Not everyone's your friend but there are a lot of people that support the journey and want to see others succeed. If you're winning, someone else winning will never affect your success.

Do you want to sign somewhere eventually or do you see yourself taking the independent route for the long run?

Signing is the ultimate goal at the end of the day, the main thing about signing for me is it just has to feel right. My intuition has gotten me to where I'm at so it's really all a gut feeling for me.

What type of music did you grow up listening to?

Rock and roll was really the only type of music my family listened to throughout my childhood, that's why my music has a subtle rock influence.

What is your favorite record that you have dropped to date? Not the fan-favorite, you're favorite. And why?

My favorite has to be DONT FEEL RIGHT, something about that record just makes me feel good inside. It's how I felt growing up and still do feel. I've always been around friends and never felt like I truly fit in.
