When I got confirmation that I was going to have a photo pass to Pandora Presents: Beyond 2018 ft. Cardi B, Julia Michaels & DaniLeigh, I nearly fell off my chair. The fact that I was able to see Cardi B and Julia Michaels (I didn't arrive in time for DaniLeigh which was a bummer because I heard she put on a great performance) at the same event seemed unreal; especially at Terminal 5, a venue both artists could sell out multiple nights at.
Pandora Presents: Beyond 2018 was unlike any show I have been to at Terminal 5. Pandora and their sponsors had a graffiti wall, enclosed glass mirror box, a photo shoot couch, live painting, and more. I can truly say, I was entertained from the second I walked in until the second I walked out. It's kinda unbelievable that an event like this was free with rsvp. I always go to shows alone but I was surprised when I ran into one of my friends on the main level. It's always more fun when you have someone next to you also screaming all of the lyrics to some of your favorite songs.
Julia Michaels hit the stage with all smiles and a sparkly minidress. Throughout the night, she sang a mix of her chart-topping hits and chart-topping songs she has written. For those of you that don't know, Julia has worked on some pretty popular songs including Selena Gomez's "Bad Liar," Anne-Marie's "2002," and Justin Bieber's "Sorry." She ended her set with her own massive-hit "Issues" which had the entire crowd singing along. And to top it all off, it was her birthday.
As soon as the lights dimmed for Cardi B's entrance, every single person in the venue screamed and pulled their phone out. Starting with one of my favorite tracks "Get Up 10," Cardi B came out strong with a squad of dancers and brought the energy from 0 to 10 instantly. Considering every song but one from Invasion of Privacy went gold, I knew I was in for a full night of fun. She played everything from "Moneybag" to "Finesse" to "Ring" to "No Limit" and she probably could have went all night with how many hits she has but she did mention getting home to her daughter Kulture. She finished the night with the song that started it all "Bodak Yellow" which had the crowd's volume at an all-time high. There is one thing for sure; Cardi B is a PERFORMER. Sometimes I forgot how lucky I am to be so close to my favorite artists but not that night. This is one night I will never forget.
