January 4, 2018, I wake up to the "Bomb Cyclone" snowstorm hitting New York City hoping the show doesn't get canceled. The reason I put it in quotes is that it really wasn't as bad as it sounds. I mean, it was cold, windy, and a blizzard outside but still. I'm from Wisconsin so I put on my boots and jacket and went to work. Fast forward to 8 PM and I am heading to Bowery Ballroom for the Marlon Craft show with support from Jay Lonzo and Year of the Ox. Both openers put on authentic Hip Hop performances by seasoned emcees. It always makes the concert experience better when more than one artist crushes the stage.
As the crowd got excited about Marlon Craft to come out, his 7-piece band filled the stage first. When Marlon finally stepped on stage he had full control of the control until he stepped off. He performed his classics, tracks off The Tunnels End, unreleased music, and an exclusive verse. Marlon also brought out two other artists to perform alongside him (Radamiz and Leah Rich) who both were amazing additions to the vibe. The venue was packed-out on a day when no one wanted to leave their house (many didn't) because of the snow storm. Marlon even started a chant saying "Snow Show / F*ck a No Show" and the crowd immediately yelled it back including me. It's awesome to watch a good person win in the music industry, especially doing it independently.
2018 is going to be a massive year for Marlon Craft. He announced that he is releasing 4 EP's in the next couple months so definitely be on the lookout for those. He also announced that he is going on tour with Joyner Lucas and Dizzy Wright starting January 23rd.
