On Saturday May 28th, the STFU tour stopped at the Rawkus in Colorado Springs, CO. The tour is headlined by B.o.B and accompanied by Scotty ATL, London Jae and The Reasn. The show opener was Colorado Springs artist, D-Stylz. When watching his performance you couldn’t help but notice the amount of fans and crowd support the artist received. I was very impressed with the amount of fans that were in attendance for his performance. The crowd was very interactive with the artist; this was highlighted by the audience’s participation in chants and responses. D-Stylz put on an excellent show that can be attributed to his stage presence. He looked very confident and comfortable on stage; as his set went on you could tell this artist has the skill-set to take his career to the next level. Following D-Stylz were the supporting touring artists.
First up was The Reasn. He was a combination of R&B and rock with a dash of hip-hop. It was a very unique sound that the crowd seemed to embrace; he received plenty of cheers and applause when singing. I really enjoyed the live drummer that was featured throughout his set. The show continued with the next performer London Jae. The Atlanta based artist provided a club vibe that had the venue moving his entire set. London Jae’s track “50/50” was one of the highlights of the night; the crowd really rocked with it and London Jae did a fantastic job of performing the track. The Atlanta sound remained on display as Scotty ATL took the stage next. His set was very diverse; from turn up club music to meaningful lyrics, Scotty ATL had something for everybody. At one point during his performance he brought girls from the crowd on stage to dance to his track “Bust It Open”; this really got the crowd engaged in his set. I appreciated the hip-hop element in his performance as well; He spit a freestyle for the crowd and performed his track "N***** Concentrate." Scotty ATL received plenty of applauses for his performance and did a great job setting the stage for B.o.B.
B.o.B brought a good combination of his older and newer music for his set; I liked his track selection and appreciated that he performed some of his music from early in his career. Those tracks were “Nothin’ on You” and “Ghost in the Machine”. He even started “Ghost in the Machine” with an acoustic guitar; which was a top moment of the night. For some newer music he rapped his verse off the club hit, “Paranoid” and his chill track “Roll Up”. Both tracks were greatly received by the crowd. B.o.B.’s set contained some unique elements: he played the guitar, went into the crowd to perform, and he did a little bit of break dancing moves as well. B.o.B. had a great set and exited the stage to ovations and cheers. This show was very entertaining from the openers to the headliner. Fans were treated to a show with a rising local act and artists making noise nationally with a attention grabbing headliner; if you’re a rap and hip-hop fan be sure to check out the STFU tour when it comes to a city near you.
