Kamani and myself were lucky enough to attend Saba Jenga's album listening party in Soho last night at Miss Lilly's (a place she used to work). The venue used to be an old record store but is now a gift shop for the popular restaurant. She said she feels comfortable there so it was the perfect place for the intimate gathering. Many of her best friends, family members, and colleagues were in attendance as well as new fans. The night started out with her DJ bumpin' popular tunes to get the attendees ready. Once the vibe was right, Saba Jenga put on her first track and everyone got silent and started grooving to the music. She then played the album front to back and the crowd went crazy went she got to her "trap" song. She must perform this one a lot because people knew the words. After she ran through the entire project, she performed a few tracks from previous albums which turned the place upside down. Check out Twitter for a video of her dancing on the table. Overall, the vibes were great and the music was dope. Excited for the rest of the world to hear it.
