When it comes to Upcoming Hip Hop, at least within the NYC area, the borough of Queens is a seriously underrated locale for amazing talent. Many of the more prominent rising acts are coming out of Brooklyn and Uptown; becoming something of a sibling rivalry. But past Cypress Hills we have the unique rap collective of Los Sound, who just released a new track "Flavey Baby" comprised of Rappers Yeeby, Yemo & M.O.
Not only does Los Sound represent the current Queens Hip Hop sound, their add value to the game with their Nigerian origins. In Hip Hop we have many First Generation African-Americans; Wale is a great example. Los Sound carry on this tradition firmly, but aren't afraid to push their heritage to the forefront. This is the kind of track queenshead play at the local trap party. Whether you do the "milly rock" or the "shoki," you can find more of their work on Soundcloud.
