Flatbush's feminist rapper and care-free black girl, Flapjak is in your face about her single "Arrogant Brown Girl". With a sultry, sexy, and down-tempo voice, Flapjak approaches socio-political issues is a digestible manner: "Brown girl. Royalty: Everything you wanna be / An African queen. Society wanna science me"--these lyrics are in reference to the lack of value society often has for brown / dark-skin girls, and yet the heritage of a brown girl points to centuries of culture of royalty.
In further defense and praise of brown girls, rapper Flapjak regards that brown girls should have complete sexual autonomy: "I'm so sweet I got them candy bars / caramel, macchiato, mulatto bars / I'm riding your cars with tampons / my brown baby, born in the '80's / homie was addicted since the first time he ate me / maybe I'm tasty, maybe my flavor's amazing" . Flapjak also speaks on the tough exterior brown girls must have in order to survive in a world which often times does not look out for us.
If nothing else, she just sounds like a dope girl to party with.
