Having collaborated with many Pragmatic Theory members in the past, as well as being featured on their very first emcee compilation back in 2012, I knew this album was going to feature some of the best underground artists from around the world. Pragmatic Theory is well known throughout the global underground hip hop community and I was thrilled to see their latest release hit the inbox here at Upcominghiphop.net.

UK based label Pragmatic Theory began as a movement for the love & appreciation of music as well as inspiration from the talent found within the SoundCloud community. 2012 marked the release of the first compilation — a Curtis Mayfield tribute, released as both an album (mcs/beatmakers) and a beat tape. Not long after that, the Pragmatic Theory Bandcamp platform continued to release alternating compilations as well as independent artist releases. Continuing to be blessed with many talented artists and beatmakers as well as a loyal fan base, growth of the label opened up another opportunity to venture into vinyl and physical releases. Today the ethos of the collective & label remains the same: Provide a platform to promote underground artists and share new & innovative music with listeners.

With the vast pool of talent that Pragmatic Theory draws form, it is no surprise that Pragmatic Theory Presents: Life is yet another solid release.
