In support of his new album, 'Blaq Royalty', Detroit indie sensation Young RJ links up with Atlantic's Joyner Lucas and high-profile DJ/Producer Statik Selektah for the visual of their breakout song of the new album, "Motion".
Directed by Diego and produced by J-Dilla and Young RJ himself. "Motion" shows a side of the Motor City that the world isn't use to seeing. Shot after a recent Detroit show, the video tells an abstract story with cameos for the city's current biggest and brightest indie acts including Supakaine and Big Sean-protege Earlly Mac.
Young RJ on "Motion":
“When you dealing with time you know you never can wait..that's the concept of Motion. The symbolism in the video, will mean different things to different people and that's what makes it dope."
Detroit has always been known for it's deeply rooted unity and in recent years have been a hot bed for breaking superstar acts like Dej Loaf, Tee Grizzley, and of course Young RJ. Although one-third of the legendary Slum Village, Young RJ first broke out of the 313 as a solo entity with his 2017 break out hit, "Huh?!"
"Motion" is off of Young RJ new album, 'Blaq Royalty', available now on all streaming platforms. With guest appearances from BJ the Chicago Kid, Guilty Simpson, Boldy James, and many more.
