On a day to day basis New York City's millennial youth face the word "No". They are often told what they can't do, what is and isn't realistic. Every first and last Monday of the month, those same people pack bars, stores, and even music venues to be a part of one artist's inspiring message that tells them "Yes." TruthCity is a local NYC recording artist who uses motivation, love, and music to unite the youth. Through his influence, the Artist Kickback was born.
The Artist Kickback gives NY's artist community a free place to go and be amongst like minded people. They are also given the opportunity to learn, perform and network with some of NY's tastemakers and influencers. Our goal is to continue to bring the artist community together through workshops, concerts, and mixers. –TruthCity
Last night (7-10-17) I gave a presentation on social media marketing at TruthCity's new event series, The Artist Kickback. The room was filled with all sorts of creatives–from photographers to songwriters to comedians from all different levels of the game. I generally don't like speaking in front of crowds but the vibes last night calmed me down and I was able to give the presentation I have to date. Jason Pollak, Lil Wayne's social media manager, also shared valuable advice from his past experiences. TruthCity also invited Cocoa Sarai who is an established songwriter in the industry and a very talented singer. She shared personal stories from over the years and advice for artists coming up in the industry. SeeSantana was also in the building and spoke about PR and publicity. The amount of information that was shared last night was incredible and needed. I look forward to attending and covering future events. Learn more about the event series and how to sign up below.
