Minneapolis/St. Paul has been known to produce lyricist and such is the case with the trio that goes by Deeply Rooted Tribe. Consisting of members of the Mill City Collective, REEL Smoovv, Raw Toons, and FreshVs Sellers, Deeply Rooted Tribe combines three unique styles that allow for flexible song styles. The three released one previous video, “Christ Concious”, which can be seen on youtube.com as well as on their facebook. Their latest project Low Eyes Rise features some of their Mill City Collective brothers in Lyric Marid, Dynast and Reed Benjamin (formerly KOB).

The new video is for their single “Tribe Supply”, an instant classic in which the trio boasts their stomping grounds. From the lyrics to the visuals this song is Minneapolis from start to finish. With a memorable chorus that ends with “ bout to have the world on some Tribal shit, mind elevation we supply you with” this song will be something will be rapping in your head for days to come. The Collective does exactly what I would do when listening to this song, drive around the city I love with the windows down playing this song. Giving us a single that should have the “the world on some Tribal shit,” The Deeply Rooted Tribe is well on its way to taking its place in the allustrious history of Minneapolis emcees.
