Start off by telling us who you are and where you are from. How long have you been making music?

Im a 30 year old female lyricist from Brooklyn. I've been making music seriously since I was 17.

What motivates you to make music?

Its something I can't really describe but its like a calling that this is what I have to do. There is no choice.

Who are some of your idols?

Biggie Smalls, Bob Marley, Prince, and Michael Jackson.

Why did you choose hip hop to express yourself? Why not another genre?

I heard "Gimme the Loot" in second grade and story telling lyrically to a hard drum beat and infectious tune... I knew it had to be rap. I do dibble into other genres from time to time because I love ALL music but hiphop has my heart.

What do you want your fans to take from your music?

The feeling. I spit about my experiences and life lessons and the heartache of failed relationships on a personal level but my ultimate mission is to use my bars to educate people on our society and its eventual collapse if we don't change our ways. If they can learn something from me that changes the way they see things or feel like someone else went through what they are going through, then I did my job.

How has Drake inspired you?

Drake inspires me to be fearless about expressing my emotions while being brutally honest. His song selection is what really inspires me to get the creative juices flowing so in a sense 40 is the inspiration to spit like I have been.

What's next for Mone?

Pheromone the Mixtape will be completely released by the end of June. The God Complex (my first Album) will be released later this year. I will randomly release singles and freestyles throughout the year tho so look out for those amongst shows and other events.
