Last night (5-23-16) we were back at Show Your Nice's Monday Night Open Mic at Lox Lounge in Brooklyn. Since we are one of the official sponsors, I am there for every event taking photos. It's a great place to network and scout talent. Every artist always seems to be interested in the hip-hop blog that is in attendance, idk why LOL. This event's crowd was a bit smaller than usual (maybe because of the rain) but seemed to be better in terms of quality. 90% of the artists that hit the stage impressed me in some kind of way whether it was their lyrics, energy, performance, or style. Open mics are interesting because you can see artists who are performing for their first time or 100th time. I can usually tell after the first track but I don't judge. Last night had a great mix of performs. The audience saw high energy performances and calm, very lyrical performances.
