Yesterday (5-21-16) I attended a different type of hip-hop event; Art Genesis 2. Wize, of Encore Radio Show and Indie Creative Network, has a new event series called Art Genesis and it's focused around the benefit of artists. Every artist that performed got a free photoshoot before their performance which I thought was great because artists should have new, professional pics to post on social media. Before the featured performers went on, their was a life freestyle cypher featuring Conley P, Danny Boy, Nile Alexander & TruthCity. Shortly after the place went "all the way up" with a milly rock competition in which a pregnant women won. She really did kill it. The featured performers (Kadeem King, Jay Bel, Jae Tips and Dyme A Duzin) hit the stage around 7PM each doing four to six tracks. Wize did a fantastic job curating Art Genesis 2. I say this because every single artist that touched the mic impressed me. I very much enjoy these type of shows over showcases. We might even be a sponsor for the next one.
