DKMTR Releases 16 Exclusive Tracks FROM THE VAULT

To commemorate the launch of DKMTR's new dynamic website (dkmtr.nyc), DKMTR released his most treasured compositions to the public. FROM THE VAULT defines the artist's 5 year journey in Hip-Hop production & MCing and features exclusive recordings from himself & his fellow peers. Born in 1991 in Flatbush-Brooklyn, NY, DKMTR belongs to a large, loving family who fostered his creativity since a toddler. It wasn't until 2010 he started his musical journey, after warm encouragement from fellow peers. He was affectionately nicknamed “dark matter,” partially referencing his skin color but also alluding to his very nature as a young African male in America. More recently, DKMTR has been doing shows all over New York City and has been recording with some very talented artists & producers. You can definitely tell he is born and raised in NYC because of his confidence, no-bullshit mentality, and that classic hip hop sound. His music will also take you on a journey of triumph, seduction, and entertainment. Stay on the lookout for this young, talented musician.

The title of this collection is an allusion to Disney as they often reference their collection of classic animated films as the "disney vault." "Social Cigarettes" a widely celebrated single we debuted on the site earlier in the year is now downloadable for free in this collection. "From the Vault" also features "Ben Z on the Mic (DKMTR RMX)," which was a submission DKMTR entered for one of our first contests.

"Renaissance 2014" and "Spirit Fugitives" are some of my personal favorites from this collection because of the upbeat tempo and smooth flows. DKMTR has a unique sound that I definitely vibe to in any situation, whether it's chilling at home or on the train. He has the ability to create a "DKMTR Sound" on his tracks because he produces a lot of his own beats. If you are ever in NYC catch one of his performances, they are an epic experience.
