Jimi Tents is just 19, yet with his first and only EP, 5 O’Clock Shadow, we hear the quality and creativity of a veteran rapper. Through seven tracks his sound transitions flawlessly, hitting further success to drop an extended 14 track LP. Despite a range of features and productions, nothing takes apart from Tent’s vision driven sound. With versatile samples, he displays his ability to adapt to any beat - unpredictable but always strong.

On “Should’ve Called” he is charming and romantic, yet will easily change it up on “All of It,” a braggadocious turn up track. Here Tents is young and menacing but still seeks a balance between the conscious and the trap, something many young artists have found themselves confronted with. However, he’s already found most of this balance - just enough play for the singles and for the conscious heavy, creating music that always returns full circle. Ending on “Thank You (Outro)” Jimi Tents comes back to earlier sounds of allure and grace proving his sound is anything but limited.
