This past Saturday was the Elements Music & Arts Festival in Brooklyn. When I say this festival was crazy, I mean it. From the five awesomely themed stages, to the strip of vendors selling all kinds of cool stuff, and the atmosphere of the entire festival, Elements did not disappoint. Going into this, I had no idea what to expect seeing that I had never been to a festival before. But after this one, I definitely want to attend more.
New York was just getting over 4 days of scattered rain showers and this day could not have been anymore hot and humid. But the festival had everyone covered with water stations, shady spots to relax and even a shower. Some people even had hoses set up on some of the stages and sprayed it into the crowd!
The lineup at Elements Music & Arts Festival is very long but some of the bigger acts include; Gramatik, Ghastly, Mija, David Hohme, Klingande, Claptone, and Govinda. These djs killed it! Each one had their own character and was so much fun to listen. Ghastly started his set with a Pokemon Go theme song remix and Govinda used a violin! Every act kept the crowd going absolutely crazy!
When I really think about what made this festival great, I don’t think of everything the festival offered, or the djs that performed. I think of the people. Everyone was absolutely awesome, their energy was so high, and they lived in the moment. When you are surrounded by people with this high energy, it makes you want to forget everything and just start dancing too.
On top of the awesome performances by the djs, they also had people performing some crazy stunts! One had a man walking a tightrope about 40 feet high, another had someone swinging from a 100ft tall building, and they also had a professional RedBull athlete wakeboarding! (Which I missed sadly)
All in all if you are in the New York City area, the Elements Music & Arts Festival is definitely one you do NOT want to sleep on. No matter who you are or what kind of music you like, you will LOVE IT! The music was great, the people were fantastic, and the memories made were unforgettable!
