I took a 2-year break from shooting during the pandemic so it felt good to be back in the photo pit. On February 28th Cordae brought his latest tour 'From a Birds Eye View' to Chicago at the legendary House of Blues with support from J PLAZA. There is something special about the moment an artist first steps out from backstage and this night was no different. Cordae had the floor shaking and the fans at his fingertips from the first beat drop until the encore wrapped up. I'm not sure if the show was sold out or not but it sure felt like it.
Fresh off the release of his sophomore album From a Birds Eye View, Cordae has built up a die-hard fanbase that was ready to go word-for-word with the North Carolina rapper whether it was feel-good tracks like “C Carter” and “Want From Me” to high-energy tracks like “Broke as Fuck” and “Have Mercy.” Although I was older than most of the crowd, I could see my younger self in a lot of them. There is nothing more fun than getting to see your new favorite artist in your city in a packed house that is sharing a vibe that you will remember for years to come.
I'm excited to see what is next for the young talent.
