Compton, California, which is also known as Bompton by the Blood gang members who don't associate themselves with the letter C, has been getting mad love in the rap world for over 20 years now. From the NWA biopic to Kendrick Lamar, The Game and YG, Compton has created a culture of hip hop that is simply indescribable. The duo known as LNDN DRGS recently dropped a mixtape and music video titled AKTIVE and it pays a big homage to Bompton. You can hear and see lowriders, domino games and house parties going on throughout the video. LNDN DRGS is comprised of Bompton based rapper Jay Worthy and Vancouver native Sean House. Jay Worthy is originally from Vancouver as well but he moved out to LA in his teens and has been repping the sound of Bompton ever since. Both the video and entire project have old school cali vibes to them, similar to Menace II Society and Boyz n the Hood. Grab some BBQ, pour up and get AKTIVE!
