Harlem World. The flashy neighborhood that brought you Mase, Cam'ron, Big L and A$AP Rocky.  Imagine being a child prodigy in one of the places where it all started and your father is a known New York DJ. Being a kid, you emulate your parents so you start making beats on your PlayStation. You know you're good and decide your work ethic can be taken to the next step. You end up reaching out to some rappers via your Myspace that have the sound you are looking for and just like that, you're with the next best rapper out of Harlem: Vado. This story is no fiction. I am talking about the Uptown Native V DON and he is hands down one of the best producers in NYC.

VDon has continue to grow his career by working with Styles P, Lloyd Banks, Jadakiss, Wiz Khalifa and countless other rappers who have a definitive stamp on the game. He dropped The Opiate a few weeks ago and it really shows how far his production has gone. It also further explains that the City of New York will continue to heavily impact Hip Hop with stand out production and storytelling authors. The full length album include other Harlem residents like A$AP Nast, Dave East and Smoke DZA. He actually stated a project with Dave East could be in the works and that really would be a dream come true (these two are Kobe and Shaq of Harlem).

VDon has a very promising career. He has stated “It’s really a compilation of all the artists I’ve been working with over the last two years. It has that east coast sound, but it feels like you’re on drugs when you’re listening to it; that’s why I called it The Opiate.” Take a hit of this addicting project it might be your best high yet.
