July 24, 2018 - I met up with a few friends after work for some drinks and then headed to Brooklyn for Marlon Craft's sold out show at Rough Trade; a popular record store and venue in New York City. The last time I saw Marlon Craft perform was in the middle of a massive snowstorm the weatherman dubbed a "bomb cyclone" so making it to this show was a no-brainer. Especially since I am a fan of his music and supporter of good concerts. Oswin Benjamin opened up the show with a classic NY Hip-Hop performance wowing the crowd with his impressive raps.
From the second Marlon Craft took the stage with his band to the second the last instrument finished, the crowd was in full supportĀ of the Hells Kitchen emcee. There was no need for backtracks and it was clear that Marlon Craft has perfected his live performance because he did not miss a single line. This was refreshing to see since a lot of Hip-Hop artists seem to have gotten lazy lately. If you get a chance to see Marlon Craft perform, I highly recommend it!
