The wavy hills of the North Campgrounds, just across from the Apple Valley Campgrounds, begin to fill with tents, tye dye draperies being hung from canopies and fresh drinks poured to cool off after the site is set up. This feeling, unlike many festivals, is what brings the faithful back.

As the sixth year of the festival season begins for Summer Set Music Festival, they have released the much anticipated lineup for the August Festival. Amongst the first announcement stand outs and hip hop legends Run the Jewels. Killer Mike and El-P will be joined by Post Malone, Playboi Carti, and Ugly God.

Along with a slew of hip hop acts, three main stays in the EDM world headline in Zedd, Zed's Dead and GRiZ. The often slept on aspect of Summer Set is the diversity not just in genres but within the genres. In the past inviting artist like Marshmello to play along side Skrillex or having ModSun play the same stage as Steve Aoki. This year is no different having the chill vibes of Big Wild to the highly energetic Zomboy.

Another very important attribute of SSMF is their willingness to bring local Midwest talents to the stage. This year two local hip hop artist will have a close eye on them. First, Gaines FM makes his first appearance at Summer Set. Why Khaliq returns after a guest spot in the Saloon stage to play the MainStage.
