Honey Bar and Club in North Minneapolis got a trippy makeover as the Free Acid artist showcase came through. Local painters, clothing designers and glass blowers were on hand to promote their unique styles. Everything from a blacklit Rafiki to hand blown glass vases were on display to create a vibe like none I had experienced in the city to date. The groove was set, the drinks were flowing and the stage was ready for a local act who embodies this feeling.

Sieed Brown, a hip hop singer from St. Paul is quickly becoming one of my favorite acts in the Twin Cities. His unique style and voice separate him from the monotonous standard of many “fifteen minute” rappers you see in the game today. Forever growing and expanding, Sieed loves to showcase his singing voice, sometimes more than his rapping abilities, and for good reasons.

His set was short lived but impressionable. A personal favorite, So Low (Solo), off an upcoming project in the making was again my favorite song played. “Turning Midas touch into amazing views” is a line from 'So Low (Solo)” that might prove to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

For all those who have yet to see Sieed, you can catch him at a huge send-off show for local act J Plaza at First Avenue/7th Street Entry on March 10th. GO95.3 and Stophouse Present the Big Bang Show with J Plaza, Baby Shel, Cashinova and Sieed Brown.
