Skizzy Mars dropped his debut studio album Alone Together last week and I couldn't be happier about it. I have been a fan of Skizzy for a couple years now so anytime he drops a project I make sure to check out the whole thing. He does a really great job of putting together full-length projects and his discography is there to prove it. Up until this point, Pace was my favorite project but Alone Together might change that. You can hear the vision Skizzy has for his music in each and every song. The Harlem rapper has a loving fan base and a growing one at that. His style is unique and his shows are intimate. You will find hip-hop, R&B, and pop in Alone Together so don't go into it looking for a single-genre album. Skizzy takes you on adventures through melodic songs that are sure to get you to sign along. He has songs for every part of the night including pre-game, party, and post-club jams. I really love Skizzy's ability to tell a story and this is something he has always been strong at. The way he can describe his experiences is top notch. I can't finish this writeup without mentioning the production because that too is phenomenal. The entire project is quality; front to back. You can catch me playing this daily for the next month or so. Take a listen to the singles above or stream Alone Together on your favorite streaming site.

Biography: Skizzy Mars (born Myles Mills) is an MC based in Manhattan who specializes in jocular, melodic, slightly left-of-center rap. Born and raised in Harlem, he got into modern rock bands, later immersed himself in the output of rappers like Kid Cudi and Kanye West, and traced back to A Tribe Called Quest. While still a teenager, he uploaded "Douchebag," a track that caught some attention and prompted him to expose more material that attracted a publishing deal. A couple mixtapes, Phases and Pace, followed respectively in 2013 and 2014. The Red Balloon Project, a seven-track EP supported by major distribution from WEA, was released in February 2015 and debuted at number 35 on the Billboard 200 chart. ~ Andy Kellman
