As a fan and lover of hip hop, I was excited to hear that Harlem-representer Sciryl was teaming up with fellow Harlemite Illuminate for probably one of the dopest collaboration mixtapes to grace my ears in 2015. The lyrically inclined emcees use music and wrestling as a foundation to bring forth the issues within the black and brown communities.

With songs like "The American Dream (Dusty Rhodes)", "Sweet Chin Music" and "Papa Shongo" Mankind speaks of issues that are often gone unspoken in the mainstream world. You can hear their anger and frustration whilst tackling issues such as white supremacy and the sheeple of the world. Compelling word play and gun butting bars (done so effortlessly might I add) every track has replay value.

Designed for the revolutionary ear and to spark some sense into this troubled world, Mankind's lyrical content is one that should be heard by the masses. On one of my favorite tracks off the project called "Mr. McMahon (DaFawkYouMean) ft. Negus Gold Phoenix and Lexus, Illuminate starts "I know I know yeah all lives matter, but all lives ain't getting battered..." he further speaks "...Lethal weapons unfair Mel Gibsons never mess up their hair just make em look good. Make sure the victim looks hood..." Sciryl chimes in "If all lives matter, why you ain't defending all lives on your online chatter? Of course yall have to see the laws not after all lives most the time you see poor lives shattered" he further says "...why you only repping all lives when we talk 'bout black ones? Like your fight, hasn't been the cause of our madness while we working on supporting our blackness, ALL THE TIME..."

Song after song on the 15 track project is dope as fuck! From lyrics, to production, even the features were popping! "...We a hardcore match, feel it in your abs, run this track back 'till you feel it in your calves..." A hardcore match indeed I look forward to hearing more from this duo. Feeling like Tyrone Biggums waiting on the next project lol. For real though.
