[Video & Interview] “Conscious” - SIG - Upcoming Hip-Hop

Hot flows and strong lyrics will definitely make you pay attention to SIG. He is an upcoming artist out of California and we here at UHH were fortunate enough to ask him a few questions. Check out the interview and be sure to watch SIG's latest video, “Conscious”.

Start off by telling us who you are & where you’re from.

To put it simply, I go by the name SiG Muzik, and I am a 23 year old artist from Compton, California.

When did you first discover your passion for hip-hop?

I found that I loved music early on as a kid. I was on a mental roller coaster as a child which drove me to pick up a pen and write until my wrists were tired.

What/who are you biggest influences?

The only constant influence was my family. Other than that, the personal growth that I have seen in myself drives me to keep it moving forward.

Who (besides yourself) have you been listening to lately?

lol Who (Besides yourself)... I love listening to conscious music. Fans of real hip hop would know the artist that fit that mold. There are really only a select few that fit that mold, but I am a fan of everything.

If you could have the chance to work with any artist living or dead, who would you choose and why?

If I could work with anyone I would have to go with Justin Timberlake. He is without a doubt one of the most talented people in the industry! I definitely feel like something crazy would come out of a good session in the lab with him.

What do you hope to accomplish through your music/career?

I hope to become a household name. I know it will happen. It is just a waiting game, I have a lot of confidence in the team around me because were all hungry. It's business, nothing short of. There are a lot in store for sure.

Now let’s talk about your new video “Conscious”. Who all had a hand in it & why did you choose them?

For the track Conscious, I decided to go with a different style of production. I came across this producer Mounika from overseas and I laid the verses and forgot about the song to be honest. The homie Nawlage sent me the track back mixed and I ended up loving it so much that I wanted to shoot a visual too. The director @InphamusAmadeuz is a well respected name so I mean the rest just fell in place.

What was the best part of working on this song/video?

I love things to be sporadic and still fall together nicely. I think that aspect of this song/video makes this one of my favorite projects. Just wait until the next couple songs drop!
